Who We Are

Community Youth Advance (CYA) harnesses the power of community and transforms out-of-school time to Teach, Reach and Keep youth on the path to success.

Established in 2018 from the merger between Community Tutoring, Inc. and Mentoring to Manhood, Community Youth Advance increased its services and expanded its student reach.

Community Youth Advance provides extended-day learning, one-on-one mentoring, and STEAM-based summer experiences to students in grades K–12 of all learning levels.

Students receive educational support, training and professional development, SAT/ACT Prep, and programming to aid students in preparing for high school acheivement and post-secondary success.

So, beginning with high expectations and student accountability, we meet students academically and socially emotionally and then provide them with the tools and support to help take them as far as they want to go.

The Community Youth Advance philosophy is that effective learning requires an entire community, including familial and school support. Therefore, our mentoring programs are designed to support the holistic character development of our young boys and girls.

With solid instruction from qualified teachers and highly trained mentors, Community Youth Advance employs research-based pedagogical methods that cater to the individual needs of each student, whether in one-on-one or small group settings.
