Kristy L. Ross specializes in youth engagement and career development. She began her professional
career with the North Carolina Works Career Center in 2013, working in the clerical unit for office support. In 2014 Kristy transitioned to workforce development becoming a Talent Engagement Specialist for ResCare Inc. (now Equus Workforce Solutions). Here, Kristy networked with professionals in the community and built relationships to establish resources and future job opportunities for clients. She attended various community events, working with Homes of Hope, The Esther House for Women, E.E. Waddell Community Center and Stanly County Chamber of Commerce 40 under forty.
After working with adult and dislocated workers, Kristy transitioned once again in 2020 as a Career Development Specialist with the NextGen program. This is where her passion lies, helping the youth realize their goals and dreams. With the NextGen program, Kristy provided vocational education and guidance to assist individuals in understanding and overcoming barriers to employment. Managed the Finish Line Grant and Innovation Grant recipients. Facilitated group/individual orientation sessions and explained requirements for participation in agency sponsored programs.
Kristy brings extensive experience in youth engagement and career development to the Community Youth Advance team, working to support the re-engagement of academically disengaged youth throughout Greater Prince George’s County.
Kristy attended North Carolina A & T State University. She is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rebecca Ch #656. She continues to work in her community with Teens Making A Difference (Alumni Member), MZMBC Youth Department as a youth leader, and the culinary department in her church.
Kristy, her fiancé and two children live in Maryland.
