Community Youth Advance Receives $54,000 Through Giant Food Community Bag & Round Up Campaign

Hyattsville, MD — Community Youth Advance (CYA) is proud to announce that it has received $54,000 in support of its youth programming through the recent customer Round Up Campaign at Giant Food stores across the region.

During the campaign, customers were invited to round up their purchases at checkout, donating spare change to support local nonprofits. Thanks to the generosity of thousands of shoppers and the continued commitment of Giant Food to community investment, the campaign resulted in a significant contribution to support Community Youth Advance’s mission to teach, reach, and keep youth on the path to success.

“These funds will directly support our programs that provide academic support, mentoring, leadership development, and enrichment opportunities for young people in our community,” said Community Youth Advance leadership. “We are incredibly grateful to Giant Food and to every customer who chose to round up. Small contributions truly made a big impact.”

Community Youth Advance serves youth through year-round programming designed to strengthen academic achievement, build character, and develop future leaders. The $54,000 donation will help expand program opportunities, provide resources for students, and ensure more young people have access to supportive learning environments.

“Partnerships like this demonstrate the power of community,” CYA leaders added. “When businesses and residents come together, we can create meaningful opportunities for the next generation.”

Community Youth Advance extends its sincere appreciation to Giant Food and to every customer who participated in the campaign for their generosity and commitment to youth success.
