HYATTSVILLE, MD – October 1, 2025 – Community Youth Advance (CY Advance), a premier youth development organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Omoijuanfo as the new Chair of its Board of Directors, September 25, 2025 effective date. Mr. Omoijuanfo, Senior Manager for Project Management with Pepco, succeeds Cassius Priestly and brings a deep commitment to youth empowerment and a proven track record of strategic support to his new leadership role.
A dedicated member of the CY Advance board since September 2023, Mr. Omoijuanfo has been a catalyst for progress, consistently leveraging his project management expertise and strong network to advance the organization’s mission. His leadership was instrumental in securing crucial funding for CYA’s programming through its annual galas in 2023, 2024, as well the upcoming event October 23, 2025.“I am honored and excited to step into the role of Board Chair for Community Youth Advance,” Mr. Omoijuanfo said. “ Community Youth Advance’s commitment to providing transformative opportunities for young people is unmatched. Having seen firsthand the impact of our programs, I am eager to work with my fellow board members and the incredible staff to build on our success and expand our reach in the community.”
During his tenure on the board, Mr. Omoijuanfo has been a vocal champion for Community Youth Advance’s work, particularly its focus on student leadership. He was a key figure in the planning and execution of the “Let’s Get Into Good Trouble” Youth Leadership Conference in June 2024, a pivotal event which empowered students to become advocates for positive change in their communities.

Omoijuanfo’s appointment comes at a critical time as CY Advance continues to expand its academic enrichment, mentoring, and college and career readiness activities for underserved youth. The organization looks forward to his leadership in developing and implementing strategies to further its impact across Prince George’s County and beyond.
